Making soya bean milk or drink has become a part of my business.
And its one of the organic drinks I recommend for families instead of going for the sugary drinks out there.
This recipe is from my book tiled Make your own drinks; 55 Mock tails and Cocktails drink recipe.
Soybean milk or drink is healthy and you can have it as an alternative to cow milk.
Soybeans is rich in protein, fats, fibre and carbohydrates.
Above all, they have a very powerful quality of phytonutrients which help in reducing blood cholesterol, to bring good cardiovascular wellness.
This milk is also good for you if you are intolerant to lactose.
Follow the direction above to see how I make my organic soy milk.
Direction:
1 1/2 cups soybeans
2 liters of water
1 root fresh sliced ginger root.
1/2 cup white sugar
Directions
Making soya milk that is very organic takes a process.
Soak beans overnight in water. The following morning, it will be soft for milling. Drain off and rinse the soya bean and wash very neatly in a good water.
Combine the washed soaked beans with 2 and half liters of fresh water.
Transfer to a food processor or blender, process beans with water until smooth. I do mine in batches of lesser quantity for absolute smoothness.
Strain into a pot through a double layer of cheesecloth, or a fine sieve.
Add some slices of ginger root, and sugar to taste.
Boil or pasteurise soy milk for 15 minutes while stirring frequently.
You can flavor with vanilla. Stir in sugar to taste. Cool to room temperature, then bottle, package and refrigerate.
